2012 marks the beginning of Tompkins County Area Development’s (TCAD) 2012-2014 Investment cycle. Since 1985, TCAD has held these campaigns in three-year cycles. TCAD’s Board of Directors formally replace the term Members with Investor as a way to more accurately describe the relationship TCAD has with those employers that help to sustain TCAD. For the 2012-2014 campaign, TCAD is launching its campaign with its first ever group of Leadership Investors. This group of 23 key investors—from across all sectors of the economy and representing all sizes of employers—are leading the campaign by not only investing early but also agreeing to increase their investment in TCAD.
The list of Leadership Investors for TCAD’s 2012-2014 Campaign is a paragon of Ithaca and Tompkins County’s employers. The investors represent all sectors of our economy, from large manufacturers such as BorgWarner Morse TEC to small innovative high tech startup companies like Widetronix. In addition, the vital non-profit sector is also a key supporter of TCAD. Be it Cayuga Medical Center, Challenge Industries, or the vital educational institutions organizations in this key sector of our economy also understand the importance of supporting TCAD.
According to Charlie Trautmann, “The Leadership Investors initiative, which provides key funding for TCAD’s economic development work, also spotlights the broad support we receive from local businesses. We are grateful for their vision in supporting TCAD’s efforts to improve the quality of life in Tompkins County.”
Now that the Leadership Investors have committed to their investment, TCAD will be kicking of its main campaign to all of its investors.
