Ithaca, NY -Two Ithaca-based companies received an award for being a best company to work for at the Central New York Business Journal’s "Best Places to Work" awards ceremony on Tuesday, May 14th.

HOLT Architects, a local architecture firm since 1963 was named as a Best Place to Work in the under 50 employee category - citing their focus on quality of life, professional development, volunteerism, innovation, and design excellence as factors in determining their rank.

Envisage Information Systems, a rapidly growing Ithaca based independent software development company since 1995, was celebrated for their family–oriented culture, bottom-up management style, and ultra-flexible work environment. Envisage was named a 'Best Places to Work' in the over 50 employee category.

More than 1,100 employees participated in the surveys conducted by Research and Marketing Strategies Incorporated which determined the top ranked companies. The non-profit, for-profit, and private companies came from 16 Central New York counties and each was scored on components including employee satisfaction and company initiatives.
