breckenridge_placeIthaca Neighborhood Housing Services (INHS) and PathStones Corporation, not-for-profit housing developers, announced the opening of the marketing window for the Breckenridge Place Apartments located at 100 West Seneca Street, Ithaca, NY. Applications for affordable one and two bedroom apartments are being accepted for two weeks.

A high volume of applications is anticipated; therefore applications will be randomly drawn in a lottery process monitored by INHS. Applications will then be processed in order drawn and screened to meet the INHS tenant selection criteria. Each applicant may submit only one application. Duplicate applications/submissions will result in disqualification. Only applications received by the deadline of July 31 will be included in the lottery.

Breckenridge Place is a six-story, 50 unit apartment building, designed by Holt Architects of Ithaca. Built to qualify for LEED Platinum certification, Breckenridge Place will provide state-of-the-art energy-efficiency and environmental sustainability for people with modest incomes.

Located at the site of the former Women’s Community Building at the corner of Seneca and Cayuga Streets, it is the first major affordable housing project in Ithaca’s downtown in over 40 years. Breckenridge Place is named in honor of Juanita Breckenridge Bates, an early leader of the women’s rights movement in Tompkins County and a founding member of the City Federation of Women’s Organizations, the owner of the Women’s Community Building.
