CRS Barn StudioCRS Barn Studio is delighted to announce its twenty-fifth season of high quality, entertaining music and dance events at the CRS Barn Studio, one of Ithaca's most attractive summer performance venues. Artistic directors Steven Stull and Jeanne Goddard will kick off the silver anniversary season with Songs for a Summer Night: An Evening of Arias and Duets, with performances Friday through Sunday, July 24, 25, and 26 at 7:30 PM.
The varied program includes operatic favorites from Handel, Mozart, and Rossini, and popular songs and duets from musical theatre. As always, performances will take place in a beautiful outdoor setting with spectacular views of Cayuga Lake. In case of rain, performances will move to the indoor stage.

Songs for a Summer Night features singers known for their performances with Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, Opera Ithaca, and the CRS Barn, and for their many appearances with orchestras and opera companies throughout the region and nationally. Artists scheduled to appear include: Steven Stull, David Neal, Zachary James, Rebecca Leistikow, Deborah Montgomery Cove, Tamara Acosta, Ivy Walz, Lynn Craver. Also performing will be pianists William Cowdery, Richard Montgomery, Dianne Birr and John White, with Peter Chwazik on bass and guitar.

The twenty-fifth anniversary season, sponsored by Triphammer Arts Inc., continues with three more productions: the annual choreographers’ showcase, Moving Landscapes, on August 23, and in the fall a performance of Grant Cooper's Boyz in the Wood (a musical retelling of the Little Red Riding Hood story), and a concert reading of the American operetta Robin Hood by Reginald DeKoven.

Recent events include productions of The Magic Flute, Hansel and Gretel, Don Quixote at the Marriage of Comacho, and the now legendary Opera Cowpokes Alive! Audiences return again and again for the relaxed atmosphere, the quality of the performances, and the sensational sunset views of Cayuga Lake.
