The Hangar Theatre has commissioned a new version of the Charles Dickens' classic, A Christmas Carol.
"We hope that this show becomes a holiday tradition for our audiences." Michael Barakiva, Artistic Director at the Hangar Theatre.
Rehearsals for A Christmas Carol began on November 14. After years of planning, the Hangar is finally bringing their dream to fruition. Michael Barakiva, the theatre's artistic director, has been working the past year with Cornell professor, Aoise Stratford to create a new version of Dickens' classic tale specifically for the Hangar Theatre stage.
The production showcases many area designers and actors who are helping make this fantasy a reality in December. From Shoko Kambara's amazing set design to Suzanne Chesney's remarkable costuming or Scott Hitz's extraordinary puppet, the show transforms the stage to 19th Century London.
"Please join us this season as we embark on a new holiday tradition with our retelling of this timeless tale of hope and redemption. We can't wait to share this outstanding production with you this December and many more to come," Mitchell Smith, director of communications for the Hangar.
