The State Theatre of Ithaca, CFCU Community Credit Union and Gateway Commons Community Series Presents An Evening with Don McLean on Sunday, December 9th at 8:00pm.
Don McLean is one of America's most enduring singer-songwriters and is forever associated with his classic hits "American Pie" and "Vincent (Starry Starry Night)". Since first hitting the charts in 1971, McLean has amassed over 40 gold and platinum records world-wide and, in 2004, was inducted into the Songwriters' Hall of Fame.
His songs have been recorded by artists from every musical genre, most notably Madonna's No. 1 recording of "American Pie" in 2000 and George Michael's version of "The Grave" in 2003.
In addition to An Evening with Don McLean, The State Theatre of Ithaca will be hosting a free Holiday Movie Night on Friday, December 7th starting at 6:30pm. Movies will include the original 'How The Grinch Stole Christmas', 'The Year Without a Santa Claus' and 'The Muppets Christmas: Letters To Sant'. The Free Holiday Movie Night is a part of the M&T Bank, Ithaca Times and BSI Production Classic Movie Series .
