To raise money for Hurricane Katrina survivors, the Ithaca non-profit organization Love Knows No Bounds will hold a concert and fundraiser at The Ithaca Montessori School (12 Ascott Place – off Craft Road, across from the mall) Friday, August 7, 2009. All proceeds from the event will benefit the people of New Orleans’ 7th Ward . The mission of Love Knows No Bounds is to sustain an ongoing relationship of support and alliance with the survivors of Hurricane Katrina in the gulf coast. Their efforts include fund raising, collecting and delivering material donations, rebuilding homes and Communities, political advocacy, and raising awareness about the on-going need for support in the Gulf Coast. We are committed to a partnership with Ithaca's Sister City, the 7th Ward of New Orleans, and its citizens.
This family-friendly event will include live music from Ithaca's Thousands of One. There will also be food, door prizes, a raffle, silent auction, and slide show, and special guests from the 7th Ward of New Orleans. The doors will open at 7:00 PM and the event will conclude at approximately 11:00 PM.
