statetheaterThe classic children’s book “Harold and the Purple Crayon” comes to life at The State Theatre of Ithaca, Sunday November 21st, and children can attend free just by drawing on their imagination.

Children will receive a free ticket to the show simply by drawing a picture that answers the question, “Where would you go and what would you do if you had Harold’s magical purple crayon?”

In the classic story, Harold is a curious four-year-old boy who has the power to create a world of his own simply by drawing it with his purple crayon. His imaginative drawing takes him on a wonderful moonlight adventure, ultimately leading back to his own home and bed.

Children under age of 6 who submit a personal drawing will automatically receive a free ticket to the show with the purchase of an adult ticket. Drawings must be dropped off at The State Theatre Box Office, 105 West State Street/ MLK Blvd., by 5pm, Nov. 18.  All submitted drawings will be projected on the State Theatre stage prior to the show. Along with that, there will also be prizes and games before the show.

The performance of “Harold and the Purple Crayon” is 3pm, Sun., Nov. 21. This show is sponsored by Sciarabba Walker and Co. LLP and Wegmans. It is the second installment of the Tompkins Trust Company’s Family Series for the 2010/11 season.
