With book, music and lyrics by Richard O’Brien, The Rocky Horror Show is a deliberately kitschy, mind-bending mash-up of science fiction staples that explodes into a libidinous frenzy of aliens, small town innocents as well as 'a sweet Transvestite from transsexual Transylvania'.
The Hangar production is set in an old abandoned movie palace, permitting everyone’s favorite aliens to celebrate and revel in some iconic film imagery. “The world of Hollywood B-movies of the 50’s portrayed a more innocent time” says Director Janki. “Setting Rocky Horror in this time period allows the audience to be shocked and delighted by all the gender-bending sexual escapades.”
What the audience will see onstage at the Hangar will be very different from the familiar images, so well known from countless midnight showings of the film. Artistic Director Peter Flynn states, “This is not your mother’s Rocky Horror. Long time fans of the show will experience the delicious craziness they’ve come to expect and love from The Rocky Horror Show but we are also introducing this sexy, hilarious musical to a whole new generation. This will be a truly singular, not to be missed event.”
To further extend the decadent fun into the audience, the Hangar is offering several special events surrounding their production of The Rocky Horror Show.
An audience dance party on stage after every evening performance of Rocky Horror. Meet the cast and dance the time warp again!

The cast features Ithaca College grad Kevin Greene as Brad (Also a top five finalist on the competition show “Grease: You’re the One That I Want”) and SNL’s Andrew Madsen as Rocky. The rest of the cast - with such credits as Wicked, Mamma Mia!, Miss Saigon, and Pacific Overtures - features Zachary Clause (Riff Raff) Stephanie Koenig (Janet), Austin Ku (Frank), Orville Mendoza (Dr. Scott, Narrator, Eddie), Nandita Shenoy (Head Phantom, Assistant Choreographer), Grace Stockdale (Columbia) and Kellyn Uhl (Magenta). Musical direction is by Mark Fifer.
To ensure the safety of the actors, Hangar audiences are NOT encouraged to throw things onstage. They ARE encouraged, however, to come dressed in costume!
