The Hangar Theatre kicks off its second annual Fall CabarETC series with a Cabaret performance featuring Broadway’s Andréa Burns. Andréa Burns: A Deeper Shade of Red will perform for one night only on Saturday, October 1 at 8:00pm at the Hangar Theatre. Audiences are promised an entertaining, musical evening that explores Andréa’s Jewish-Latina heritage with humor, wit, and a great mix of female pop artist hits & Broadway standards. Regional audiences will remember Andréa’s most recent debut at the Hangar Theatre in July 2011, where she played the hysterical Daisy in Tim Pinckney’s world premiere of Ever So Humble.
Andréa is best known internationally for her performances as the saucy Daniela in Broadway’s In the Heights (for which she won a Drama Desk Award); in the original company of Jason Robert Brown’s critically acclaimed Songs for A New World; in the European tour of West Side Story (Maria); and on Broadway in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (Belle) and in The Full Monty (Vicki Nichols). In addition, Andréa has sung concerts at symphonic halls around the country including Carnegie Hall.
