The synergy of gardens, travel, and local scenery are the focus of Nancy's photographic montages. Initially these montages were primarily of the beautiful lotus flower. They now include sculptures and architecture as well. Nancy's work is printed with archival ink on photographic art paper, satin, or canvas.
The Cornell Sculpture Garden has been a constant source of fascination for Nancy. She finds the shapes and textures of the cement sculptures bold and attractive in any and all seasons and time of day. Her abstract montages are the product of a fusion of parts to make a unique new sculpture.
Nancy Ridenour taught biology at Ithaca High School for thirty two years. After taking a class in Photoshop at Tompkins Cortland Community College she found an artistic outlet for herself that she didn't know existed.
