Aurora, NY —The Inns of Aurora are partnering with the William H. Seward House Museum—a National Historic Landmark in nearby Auburn, New York—to add to its experiential travel offerings. The package, which pairs a two-night stay at one of the historic and luxurious Inns of Aurora, guides area visitors to travel back in time on the Seward estate with Geralyn Huba, collections manager, to learn fascinating family narratives, handle priceless artifacts from around the world, and explore spaces closed off to the public.

Billye Chabot, executive director of the Seward House Museum, shares her enthusiasm: “This one of kind experience will offer visitors the opportunity to work with the Seward House Museum collections and research staff. Begin with an exclusive upstairs and downstairs tour including collections and storage areas of the museum, which are off limits to the general public. Then visitors will have their choice of a collections project designed to meet their special interest. This could include examining historical documents, photographs, textiles, and other artifacts.”

Experiential travel, which has been billed as the “next wave” in travel, is about helping travelers immerse themselves more completely in the places they’re traveling to, to deepen their understanding and sense of connection. The Inns of Aurora broke ground with their Harvest Home Organics and Heart and Hands Wine Company packages in the last two years, and continue to steward an immersive Finger Lakes experience in the with the Seward House Museum.
