theaterBlood and murder set the stage this Halloween as Auburn Public Theater presents One October Midnight: A New Musical Thriller.  Based on the grotesque, horrific and heart-wrenching tales of Edgar Allan Poe this whodunit murder mystery musical promises a night of suspense, terror and lost love.

Follow 1940’s gumshoe Inspector Wilson on his manic chase through the haunted streets of Baltimore to capture the infamous October 9th Serial Killer.  With songs inspired by Poe’s poems and short stories such as The Bells, The Tell-Tale Heart and The Fall of the House of Usher, this new musical explores the supernatural hallucinations brought on by the killer’s steady decent into madness.

One October Midnight was first presented to sold out crowds in June 2013 as part of The Finger Lakes Musical Theater Festival’s new musical series, The PiTCH.  Musically inspired by the preludes and nocturnes of Chopin and Rachmaninoff, One October Midnight brings the pit orchestra to the stage as cast members accompany one another on flute, baritone sax and organ.  Original graphic novel-style projections by Montreal-based artist Lateef Martin, drop the audience clues along the way.

Book and music by Skaneateles native Erin (Humphrey) Schey and Brian Schey, with book and lyrics by Thom Bishop.  Starring Josh Wilmot as Inspector Wilson and Meghan Jo Clary as Sergeant Munson and featuring Jackie Aberi , Lillian Boberg, Mike Clark, Steve Condie, Ricky Ducane, Stephanie Figer, Morgan McIlvain, Nikki Schwarz, Alex Spear, Ryan Terhune and Caitlin Wilmot.
