A magical celebration of life, community and the arts will take place on an upcoming winter evening in Ithaca. Celebrating twenty years of original stories, traditional tales, folk and contemporary poetry, and dynamic live music from around the world - Temple Beth El proudly hosts the Annual Evening of Jewish Storytelling, Poetry and Music on Saturday, February 2nd at 7:30 PM.

This event has become extremely popular over the years, drawing participants together for an intimate and cozy evening; a real reminder of times past. People who might otherwise never cross paths - listen, laugh, shed a few tears together perhaps - and get to know each other. The idea is to get away from the computer and television screens and share a moment of slower pleasures, together. In addition, there are always complimentary, traditional homemade treats to be enjoyed while listening to the treasures of the night.

Desperate to escape a life in 17th century espionage, up-and-coming playwright Aphra Behn just landed her first chance with a professional company—if she can deliver her play by dawn. But in a world of romance and spies, can Aphra save the life of King Charles II and launch her budding writing career all in one night? With Nell Gwynne interrupting? With echoes of Restoration comedy, it’s a mad, literate romp of formidable wit by American playwright Liz Duffy Adams.
