Washington, DC - Congressman Tom Reed praised the Seneca Nation and Governor Cuomo for coming to an agreement to fix the crumbling Seneca Nation portion of I-90 to guarantee the safety of the traveling public.

"Fixing the road is the right thing to do for the safety of the travelling public," Reed said. "We were happy to lead the public outcry over the road conditions for the hardworking people we care about and represent, and we will continue to be your voice in both Albany and Washington, D.C."

"I am thrilled that the effort led by Tom Reed and myself to bring attention and pressure to this long-neglected issue is resulting in the necessary repairs so thruway users can once again safely use that stretch of road," Chautauqua County Executive George Borrello said.

In August, Reed first called on Governor Cuomo to fix the Seneca Nation portion of I-90. Weeks later Reed called for a DOJ investigation into the Governor in a letter to U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr following the Governor's decision not to repair the NYS Thruway in the Seneca Nation because of an unrelated political dispute over gaming revenue.
