Mr. Gizzy said, "I want to tell you that the district has not received any information or accusation that the alleged activities for which he was arrested were in any way connected to our schools, our students, or the school community." The district is working with law enforcement and other schools in the area, and is urging parents to forward any information that may be connected with the alleged activity to the superintendent's office so it can be sent to the proper authorities.
He also assured parents that this individual will no longer substitute in Lansing schools. Mr. Gizzy also stated that all teachers, permanent or substitute to be employed by the district will be required to undergo state mandated fingerprinting and background checks.
