ImageThe Tompkins County Democratic Committee endorsed Congressman Michael Arcuri in his bid for re-election to the House of Representatives for New York’s 24th District during a full committee meeting on Tuesday, June 8th.

“We are pleased to endorse Congressman Mike Arcuri to continue representing New York's 24th District in the House of Representatives,” said Irene Stein, chairwoman of the Tompkins County Democratic Committee. “He has worked hard to deliver for our district and we are committed to keeping him in office.”

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Tompkins County Democratic Committee,” said Congressman Arcuri. “They have always been great supporters and friends, and I am looking forward to working with them during this year’s re-election campaign.”

“Congressman Arcuri works to move our district forward,” commented Stein. “After listening to his constituents, he has taken a stand on hydro-fracking, demanding that we only move forward if we can ensure protection of our most precious natural resource – our water. He has also worked to expand rural broadband, brought research funding to Cornell University and fought for stabilization funding for our public schools.”

Arcuri announced his bid for re-election May 17 at Union Station in Utica before a large crowd of family, friends and supporters.

The Tompkins County Democratic Committee joins the Cortland, Herkimer, Oneida and Ontario County Democratic Committees in endorsing Congressman Arcuri for re-election.
