tc_facebookTompkins County’s Personnel Office is now offering job-seekers another way to learn about county employment opportunities, through a new page on the social networking site Facebook.

The page may be accessed through the Personnel Department’s web site or though Facebook by searching for “Tompkins County Personnel.”

The department is posting information on all employment vacancies and civil service examinations offered through Tompkins County Civil Service, as well as reminders on when final filing deadlines are approaching.  The notices cover Tompkins County government and surrounding municipalities, with the exception of the City of Ithaca, which administers its own Civil Service program.

“We are using Facebook as another outreach tool, seeking  to get the word out about county employment opportunities to as may people as possible,” says Stephen Estes, the County’s Deputy Commissioner of Personnel.  “This is part of the department’s ongoing effort to create the best possible customer service.  We hope people will find this new service valuable and look forward to seeing our following expand.”
