Born July 1, 1931 in Salem, MA, Ruth was the daughter of the late Walter and Minnie (Ruhmpohl) Annable. She was retired from Cornell University’s Gannett Health Center, where she had been employed as a secretary. She enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, knitting, and playing games, especially scrabble and boggle. Ruth’s greatest pleasure came from spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Robert Finniss, who passed away in 1999.
Ruth is survived by four children, Roberta “Bobbie” Ivy (David) of Elmira, Glenn Finniss (Cathy) of Liverpool, Kenneth Finniss (Diana) of LaFayette, Rebecca “Becky” Yager (Jeff) of Eloy, AZ; seventeen grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at 11am, Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at LaFayette Alliance Church, 6069 Rt. 20, LaFayette, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ruth’s memory may be directed to Gideon’s International, 53 Winn Hill Rd., Port Crane, NY 13833.
