Doris is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Claone and Morris Wolfe, Lansing, Rose Teeter, Groton, Lori and Chris Parker, W. Groton; her two sons, Edward Teeter, Lansing, and Edwin Teeter, Lansing; her seven grandchildren, Melissa, Philip, Shani, Daniel, Richie, JR, and Katie; her three great-grandchildren, Madison, Brandon, and Clayton; several nieces and nephews, including her favorite niece, Barb Barron; and her extended family, Peachy and Judy. Doris was born in Lansingville, NY, on July 23, 1922, the daughter of the late Bion and Mae (Inman) Grover, and lived her entire life in the Lansing area. She worked for Ithaca Gun, the Pocketbook Factory, and also for the Lansing Central School system.
Most recently, she was custodian for Cornell University, and was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lansingville Fire Department. Doris enjoyed baking and generously sharing her famous donuts and apple pie with her family and friends. She always looked forward to playing bingo four nights a week at Beechtree, and loved the trips to the horse racesat Tioga Downs. Doris had an especially cheerful personality that touched the lives of all who knew her.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY, on the anniversary of her late husband's birthday, Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. James Kane, Pastor of Living Water Free Methodist Church in Cortland, NY, officiating. Burial will follow in Lansingville Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at Lansing Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributionsin memory of Doris may be made to the Mark Wandall Foundation, 6211 63rd Ave. East, Bradenton, FL 34203.
