Howard is survived by his two sons and daughter-in-law, James and Apple Cahalan, Dallas, TX, Eugene Cahalan, Solvay, NY; his four grandchildren, Christopher-Howard, James-Ryan, Al-Bryan, Amanda; his three great grandchildren, Courtney, Jessica, Jason; his sister, Helen Ryan, Aurora, NY; his brother and sister-in-law, Francis and Catharine Cahalan, Lansing, NY; and several nieces and nephews. Howard was born in Venice Center, NY, on June 6, 1930, the son of the late George and Harriet (Coiley) Cahalan. Howard was well known through this entire area and was very active in Fire Service his entire life. He was a 47 year member of the Lansing Fire Department, and served 17 years on the ambulance rescue squad. Howard will be sadly missed, as he would always have a smile and a kind word.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lansing Funeral Home, Inc., 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY, on Saturday November 11, 2006, at 11:00 noon, with Rev. Leo Reinhardt, pastor of Immaculate Conception Church, Ithaca, NY, officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at Lansing Funeral Home, on Friday November 10, 2006, from 2:00pm until 4:00pm, and again from 7:00pm until 9:00pm.
