Obituaries

L. Neigh, of Lansing, passed away September 25, 2008 at the age of 95. Born April 21, 1913 in Phelps, NY, he was a son of the late Alfred and Samantha (Bryant) Neigh. Jim was a 1936 graduate of Ithaca High School. He owned and operated Neigh's Garage in Northfield, MA for many years before returning to the Ithaca area. He was employed at Cornell University as a Senior Electronic Technician, retiring in 1978. Since the early 1960's, he and his wife, Elizabeth, were avid ham radio operators and formed many lifelong friendships through this hobby.

Jim is survived by his wife of 69 years, Elizabeth (Pallam) Neigh; a son, James (Adah) Neigh of Mt. Carmel, IL; a daughter, Jean (Robert) Perkins of West Covina, CA; two grandchildren, Nancy Sams and Jim Neigh; and two great- grandchildren. Jim is also survived by a brother, Lyle Neigh of Ithaca; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sisters, Laura Bliss, Gladys Buffum, Mildred Graves and Barbara Moravec "Turk"; and his brothers, Stanley Neigh and Virgil Neigh.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at North Lansing Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY.
