Born November 12, 1935 in Ithaca, Max was the son of the late Max and Alma (Coney) Hagin, Sr. He owned and operated a service station, convenience store and fuel delivery business in Lansing for many years. After selling the business, Max worked for several years with Andree Petroleum in Ithaca.
He was a passionate outdoorsman, never passing up a chance to go hunting, fishing or trapshooting. He was also an avid car and truck enthusiast, eventually forgiving his children if they drove something other than a Ford. Max was a founding member, and lifetime honorary member of the Lansing Rod & Gun Club and was proud of his membership in the Lansing Masonic Lodge #774.
Max is survived by his two sons, Doug (Sandy) Hagin of Ithaca, and Bill (Jo) Hagin of Ithaca; his daughter, Phyllis (Daryl) Haynor of VA; grandchildren, Nicolas and Kristen Haynor of VA, and Casey and Kelsey Hagin of Ithaca. He is also survived by his sister, Marcia (Jim) Miller of FL; and the mother of his children, Roberta Malley of Lansing.
In keeping with Max's wishes, services will be private.
Those wishing to remember Max in the form of a contribution are asked to kindly consider The Lansing Rod & Gun Club, 55 Salmon Creek Rd., Lansing, NY 14882.
