Born June 15, 1940, in the same house he passed away in, Marty was a son of the late Ignatz and Josephine (Kukitz) Trinkl, Sr. A lifelong Lansing resident, he was a 1958 graduate of Lansing High School, where he was inducted into Lansing Athletic’s Hall of Fame as a member of the 1955-56 Basketball team. Marty’s greatest pleasure came from spending time with family. He was a proud, devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. A sensitive and appreciative man, he accepted people as they were. He was a very detail oriented man with a curious mind; always able to answer any question directed his way. Marty also enjoyed spending time at Myers Point and birdwatching. He was a dedicated employee of Cargill for over 41 years, retiring in 2000 as a mine surveyor.
Marty is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Elsie Bower Trinkl; his children, Martin Trinkl, Jr., Lindy (Larry) Wilcox and Rich (Christine) Trinkl; grandchildren, Kara, Casey, Styles, Anthony and Parker; his brothers, Frank, Paul and Joseph. He also leaves a large extended family, many friends and his beloved dog Lacey.
In addition to his parents, Marty was preceded in death by a brother, Ignatz Trinkl, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Marty’s memory to Hospicare, 172 E. King Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.
Family will be present to receive friends from 12 – 2pm, Tuesday, September 27th, at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY, followed by a prayer service which will begin at 2 pm.
