Born April 25, 1967, in Urbana IL, Doug was a son of Frank and Mary (Falkenberry) Lehr. Outside of working at the Boxcar Restaurant & Ramada Inn, Doug was most passionate about his family. He was a beloved son, brother, and a wonderful uncle whose presence will be greatly missed. Doug enjoyed trains, kite flying, movies, bowling, NASCAR & helping others. Since its inception, Doug had been a faithful viewer of "This Old House" and anything on HGTV. He was gifted with a great memory and drawing skills. Train rides via his videos would take him on relaxing cross country journeys and he always had a excited anticipation for every single family road trip to see his sisters, relatives or even just the simple get together at a local park. He had a passion for animals, especially his brother's dog, Abby. Sea World in California provided many good memories for Doug.
In addition to his parents, Frank and Mary Lehr of Lansing, Doug is survived by his brother, Steve Lehr (Brenda) of Lansing; his sisters, Debra Harrison (Chris) of NC, Michele Muzzy (Peter) of CA; nieces and nephews, Marissa, Greg, Lyndsey, Brad, Alec, Leilani, Eadi, and Sophia. The impressions of Doug's uniquely loyal, pure and smiling persona has also been indelibly stamped to his large extended family including many out of state aunts, uncles and cousins.
Doug was a humble man who always had time for others. The family would like to encourage acquaintances of Doug to remember him with a contribution of your time.
