When we generate power at the generating plant on Cayuga Lake in Lansing, we know what kind of fuel we are using and we know that the plant has scrubbers and other ways to keep our air as clean as possible.

When we ask NYSEG to carry power over new transmission lines we don't know where the power for the lines is generated, nor whether or not clean practices are required or followed.

Let's go with what we know. Power generated in New York State has New York State safety built in.
