A lot of time an effort went into putting together a plan for Lansing but what is appears to be totally lacking is an effort to have growth and development without forcing current residents into subsidizing that effort with tax dollars. We are already dealing with exorbitant property taxes and further increases will force long time residents to sell because they cannot afford what are getting to be draconian levels of taxation.
New York State has some of the highest taxes in the country, we get hit with income tax, sales tax and property taxes along with a slew of 'fees'. So, if we are to have a comprehensive plan, make it comprehensive and deal with some real economics.
