The recent discovery of anti-Semitic graffiti at the Ludlowville Park has called the citizens of Lansing and surrounding communities to respond with a clear and loud message. There is no room for hate in Lansing, Tompkins County or anywhere.
As the pastor of St. George Orthodox Church, a faith community founded by Syrian Immigrants who fled persecution in the Ottoman Empire and found safe refuge in Lansing, I stand with all who seek to unite and welcome those who want to live a life without fear.
The message of Christian Scripture is simple: "Love one another." This love is unconditional and expects nothing in return. This is the only way to eradicate hate. Support, embrace and welcome the diversity in our community.
Sincerely,
Rev. Matthew P. Binkewicz
Pastor, St. George Orthodox Church
