It is, indeed, a nightmare. I only go downtown if I absolutely have to...and it's all because of the parking. It's complex and confusing. When I do go downtown, I park where there are the good, old-fashioned, parking meters, and walk a few blocks to my destination.
I, too, have experienced the perplexing process of paying at the garage near Cinemapolis.
Why, won't they change back to parking meters? A false sense of pride? Can't admit they were wrong? Don't want to pay anyone to check the meters? It's anybody's guess.
For a city that claims to be progressive, parking in Ithaca is very user unfriendly.
