I am disappointed in your response to the current COVID-19 crisis. As you have said often—in justifying military spending, or spending on anti-terrorism measures, or in keeping our borders protected—your first responsibility to us as Americans is keeping us safe, and yet you have stood by Mr. Trump while he has gutted nearly every federal agency that serves that purpose.

Currently, we are left with a dangerously understaffed Center for Disease Control, and Trump has chosen, as the overseer of this crisis, the notoriously anti-science, religious fanatic Mr. Pence. And the best you can do as this potential pandemic looms is to remind us to wash our hands. Your response is nothing short of pathetic.
