My name is Kelsey, and I am an alumni from Lansing School District. My family is putting on a yard sale to benefit the Kyle "Booie" Arrison Sports Scholarship Program with the Lansing Recreation Department. Kyle was an avid sports player during his years at Lansing, and we wanted to honor him by donating funds to the Rec department in hopes that it would benefit children who could not afford to play summer sports. Kyle passed away in a car accident in 2017, and we hope to keep his memory alive by allowing all others to share the joy of sports, just as much as he did.
This year due to COVID, my mom has been working hard collecting cans and bottles to save for a donation to the Rec Club. Our usual softball tournament and chicken BBQ were canceled due to the pandemic, but are happy to hear that a yard sale may still be possible this year. We are asking the community to come together to donate their unwanted (in good condition) items to our yard sale, where all proceeds will be directly donated to the Lansing Rec Department.
The yard sale will tentatively be August 1st weekend, at my mom's house at 98 Scofield Road, Lansing (Freeville) NY. We would love everyone to stop by and support our cause. Donations can be dropped off at the Scofield location any time, or my mom can be contacted on facebook for a pick up time (Jenny Arrison). I also posted a photo on facebook, as well as any photos on my facebook or Kyle's can be used if published.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and I hope you all are staying safe!
