I strongly support solar power, even in this cloudy area, but we’re losing state-sized areas to fire, flood, and drought. This part of the country, relatively unscathed, will soon grow in value for food production as land in the Western, Central, and Southern states goes out of production, and food prices go up to European levels.
Developers want to cover our fields in solar panels because it’s an easy place to do it, when we’d be wiser to shade parking lots with solar panels and use our fields to produce food and wind power at the same time.
