ImageI was a member of the Town Hall Advisory Committee several years ago, when plans to either renovate the present town hall, or build a new one were being considered. This committee met once a month for a year. A lot of careful thought and work was put into the process. We gave careful consideration into renovating the present town hall, as its only major problem was that it was not handicap accessible.

It was never condemned nor deemed "not fit for humans".It was a good building, but getting too small for the present needs of the town. Therefore it was decided that it would be more sensible to build a new larger town hall, rather than spend money making the small building handicap accessible. I hope this letter sets the facts straight for the residents of Lansing, who might not otherwise know the true circumstances.
