Hello fellow tax payers.

Have you ever wondered with the economy the way it is, why the town of Lansing and the Lansing Fire Dept feels that it should have new vehicles every few years? I wondered this the other day because it make me wonder where my taxes are going and how they are being spent. I feel that we should be able to drive these vehicles longer that what we are. I have seen a couple of the old Lansing truck still on the road today in Tompkins county. Again makes me wonder why they are not be driven by the members of the fire dept. Does this not make you concerned with how they are spending money?

 

Maybe we should be trying to save money at this point in time, and drive these trucks longer. Most vehicle now are able to go longer than a few years. I see alot of vehicle on the road that are 5 to 10 years old and are still being driven. This all make concern being that fact that money does not go as far as it use to. Today New York State has a 15 billion deficit and these is going to roll down to the smaller town and villages. We should prepare ourselves for this and not keep spending money like nothing.
