I write in support of the Lansing Community Library, and to encourage Lansing residents to vote “NO” on the anti-library ballot question on May 19. As a long time Lansing resident, but new patron of the Lansing library, I believe the community is very privileged to have this wonderful resource.
I am a recent retiree who previously worked in Ithaca. At that time, it was easy to get to the Tompkins County Library. Now that I no longer need to go into Ithaca daily, I am delighted to have the Lansing Community Library, where I can have access to over 13,000 books, DVDs, and audio tapes, as well as access to the entire Finger Lakes library system.
This wonderful resource comes at a very limited cost to residents, allows Lansing residents to get back money they pay to the county for support of libraries, and provides additional value to our property.
Please join me in supporting the Lansing Community Library, which will cease to exist, and lose all its assets, if the effort to abolish it succeeds on May 19. To prevent this, I urge voters to vote NO on the anti-library question on May 19!
