I started working on what has happily now become the Lansing Community Library back in 2000. At that time a group coalesced and began the work of trying to take a former school building that was unused because the town offices had moved out, keep it from being demolished, and use it to house a library. The amazing thing is that this unstructured and diverse bunch of Lansing resident volunteers was able to succeed on all counts. Whatever happens with this vote, it was worth the effort.
