I wouldn’t have run for re-election if I didn’t want to continue as your Legislator, but a majority of voters in Lansing want to go a different direction, paying higher taxes to protect more services. I’m afraid that will be difficult over the next five years as pension costs rise, but we’ll see if the majority has gauged the situation correctly.
The upshot for the voters who voted for my platform is that we can accomplish most of those future goals. I’d like to see more money going to autism and learning disabilities diagnosis and treatment. That shouldn’t be hard, although balancing those increased expenditures with cuts elsewhere will not likely happen now that I won't be in office.
I’ve been proud to serve the town of Lansing, and have done my best. We got a lot accomplished including equal funding for the Library and the freeing of town land from state control. I’m looking forward to continued service to the town albeit down different avenues. Thank you for giving me the chance to work for you.
