A good book to read to understand what the ladies in Cleveland (who were kidnapped and kept prisoner ten years) is, "A Train in Winter". It tells of the experiences of French women in Nazi Concentration Camps in WW II, and how the few survivors reacted to normal life when the war was over.

For four years they had depended on each other for moral support and everything else they needed to survive. They became "family" and missed each other a great deal when the war was over. You might find this book in the Lansing Community Library as I donated it after I finished reading it so that I could share it with the community.
