Gansevoort, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced today that SUNY Cobleskill sophomore Alex Steelman, Ithaca, N.Y., Lansing High School, has been named the league’s Female Swimmer-of-the-Week for the week ending Sunday January 25. This marks the fourth-time in her career the Ithaca, N.Y. native has been honored by the NEAC with Female Swimmer-of-the-Week honors.
 
The Fighting Tiger sophomore diver won the one-meter diving event posting a score of 338.15 points on Saturday at triangular meet hosted by Utica College with Nazareth College on Saturday afternoon in Utica, N.Y. Despite the effort by Steelman, the Orange & Black were defeated Utica College by a score of 151-118 and by Nazareth by a 223-62 margin to fall to 8-5 versus head-to-head competition on the year.

The Fighting Tigers will return to the pool on Saturday January 31 when they travel to Saratoga Springs, N.Y. for the 2015 Skidmore Sprint Invite hosted by Skidmore College at the Thoroughbred’s Williamson Sports Center beginning at 1:00 p.m.
