Zacc Guragno, a two time Ithaca Journal football All-Star selection, who scored 904 points and pulled down 567 rebounds in his three years basketball career. Guragno was a member of the Track and Field Team and was a NY State qualifier in three events, 100 yard dash, 10.9, 200 yard dash 22.9 and high jump 6’ 5”. In football, he had 38 receptions for 968 yards and averaging 25.5 yards per catch as a senior. He was a first Section IV selection.
Lansing Parks and Recreation Director, Steve Colt, will be inducted in the Contributor category. Colt was a three sport star at Lansing starring in football, basketball and baseball, but has made an indelible mark by running the Lansing Parks and Recreation program for the last 30 years. Local recreation directors have copied Steve’s program, the highest form of flattery. Steve has introduced over 50 different sports and recreational activities to the Lansing Community as well as having managed the park and water areas in Myers Park.
The 2002 Men’s Cross Country team will inducted, representing the team category. Coached by Jason Eade, the team members were Alejandro Papachryssanthou-Bernad, Nathan Lockett, Jeff Abbott, Thomas Colt, Andrew Barnard, Joey Usack and Erik Herter. They were Section IV Champions, IAC Champions, winners of the Corning Invitational, defeating powerhouse Ithaca High School for the first time. They also won the Windsor Invitational, the Auburn Invitational and competed in the prestigious Manhattan Invitational. In that race, Lansing defeated all future 2002 NYS Class Champions. Following their performance at the Manhattan Invitational, they were ranked #9 nationally by Harrier Magazine.
The Induction will be held at The Lake Watch Inn, on Saturday, December 26th. Cocktails will begin at 6, dinner at 7, followed by the induction ceremony.
