The Lansing swimmers moved to 9-0 on the season downing Waverly on Tuesday, October18th at Waverly. The LadyCats put on a team effort with 8 Individual event winners and all 3 relays.

Meghan Matheny qualified for the New York State Girls Diving Championships with a score of 445.60 for 11 Dives at the 7th Annual Shenendehowa Girls Invitational on October 8th.


Scoring for Lansing by event was as follows:

200 Medley Relay:
1st Place with a winning time of 2:02.73, the team of Marin Allen (Back, JR), Grace Ferris (Breast, SR Capt.),  Katie Weaver (Fly, SR Cpt.), and Grace Kadlecik (Free, 8). They topped a tough Waverly relay by less than a second (2:03.57).

200 Freestyle
Lansing swimmers swept the top 3 positions in this event with strong performances by:

1st Place with a time of 2:13.71, Caroline Dennis (JR);
2nd Place with a time of 2:17.74, Katie Barr (FR);
3rd Place with a time of 2:19.84, Mackenzie Stark (8).

200 Individual Medley:
Senior Captains Grace Ferris and Katie Weaver added a combined 10 points for the LadyCats in this event. Ferris finished 1st with a time of 2:28.80, just out touching Weaver who came in 2nd with a time of 2:28.93.

50 Freestyle:
8th grade standout Grace Kadlecik took the top spot in this event with a time of 25.99. Also scoring for Lansing was Meghan Matheny (JR) in 5th.

Diving:
Junior Meghan Matheny topped all divers with a score of 232.35 for 6 dives. Meghan qualified for the New York State Girls Diving Championships with a score of 445.60 for 11 Dives at the 7th Annual Shenendehowa Girls Invitational on October 8th.  


100 Butterfly:
Katie Weaver, Marin Allen and Laura Ferris (SO) scored in 3rd, 4th and 5th place respectively in this event.

100 Freestyle:
Another sweep of the top 3 places was garnered by LadyCat swimmers in this event.

Grace Kadlecik captured her second individual 1st Place on the day with a time of 56.97. She was joined by Freshman Katie Barr in 2nd Place and Sophomore Libby Weaver in 3rd.

500 Freestyle:
1st Place with a time of 6:06.26 was taken by Caroline Dennis. Also scoring for Lansing was Mackenzie Stark (8) in 2nd and Senior Captain Lexi Ryan in 5th.

200 Freestyle Relay:
The second relay win of the evening was taken for Lansing with a 1st Place time of 1:51.29 by the team of Meghan Matheny, Katie Barr, Katie Weaver and Caroline Dennis.

100 Backstroke:
Junior Marin Allen fought a head to head battle with Julianne Lee of Waverly in this event. In the end Allen came from behind with a diving finish at the wall and top time of 1:08.62, just edging Lee who finished at 1:08.79.  Libby Weaver scored in 5th in the event for Lansing.


100 Breastroke:
1st Place with a time of 1:15.93 was won by Grace Ferris, her second individual win on the day. Jackie Brown (JR) and Valencia Gell (8) scored for Lansing with 4th and 5th place finishes as well.

400 Freestyle Relay:
The final event and relay of the evening was won by the LadyCats team of Caroline Dennis, Marin Allen, Katie Barr and Grace Kadlecik with a time of 4:04.74.

They were joined by the team of Mack Stark, Krista Taylor, Grace Ferris and Libby Weaver in 3rd Place with a time of 4:30.51.

The LadyCats will be competing in their final dual meet of the season at Dryden on Thursday 10/20.
