Lansing defeated Trumansburg on a cold and windy Monday game that was marked by strong pitching from sophomore Garrett Bell. Lansing took an initial 2-0 lead with Eric Eastman and Chris Weil scoring in the top of the 5th inning.

T-burg fought back with the next at bat and was able to halve the lead when a fly ball in the gap brought in a runner from third. That was as close as T-Burg would get in the 2-1 Lansing victory. Pitcher Garret Bell limited T-burg to 3 hits through 6 innings striking out 7 batters from the Raiders.

Odessa jumped to a 2-1 lead with 3 two out hits bringing in a run before pitcher Lansing Miller ended the run with a full-count strike out.

The bottom of the sixth had Lansings Griffin Nelson hit a single to right field and then move to 3rd off a wild pickoff attempt that sent the ball into deep right field foul territory. The next at bat saw a perfectly executed safety squeeze with Nelson scoring off a bunt by Garrett Bell. Bell was safe at first off the bunt and caught the napping Odessa defenders by safely advanced to an unguarded second base.
