ImageThis week the Lansing Girls Track and Field team was named IAC Division III League Champions, and took second place at the IAC Championship Meet. Lansing recorded 12 top six finishes. Junior Ryann Cretney was named meet MVP for track events and led the way for the Bobcats, setting a school record of 7:21.45 and taking second place in the 2000m Steeplechase, a Dryden High School facility record of 2:20.17 and first place finish in the 800m, a school record and first place finish of 4:46. 2 in the 1500m, and anchored the winning 4x800mR team with a season best time of 10:03.8.

The 4x800mR team was rounded out by junior Christine Fuchs, senior Natalie Usack, and freshman Katy Bland. Freshman Chloe Ryan came up big in the 100m and 200m dashes with third and fourth place finishes, respectively. Ryan also ran the lead leg of the sixth place finishing 4x100mR team, consisting of seniors Preeti Panda, Veronica Palladino, and freshman Emily Eisenhut, which ended with a season best time of 54.2 seconds. Senior Kendal Dean found her mark, taking second place in high jump with 4’10” and long jumped 15’2” into 6th place.

Other top finishes were turned in by the 4x400mR team of seniors Tiffany Lind, Natalie Usack, Colleen Trowbridge, and junior Christine Fuchs with a time of 4:16.65 and a second place finish; senior Tiffany Lind ran a season best in the open 400m and took fifth with a time of 1:02.8; and senior Katie Stout’s sixth place and personal best throw of 30’ in the shot put.

5/21/07 - Sectional Pentathlon/Steeplechase

Junior Ryann Cretney had a huge day at Union Endicott Monday as she crushed her own 7:21.45 school record in the 2000m Steeplechase with a 2:10.4.  Cretney earned a close 2nd place behind Newark Valley’s Erin Cawley.

Freshman Katy Bland set new personal records in all five events of the pentathlon and set a new personal record of 2202 total points.  Bland ran an 18.8 in the 100mH, 2:36.9 in the 800m, jumped 4’5.75” in high jump, 4.33m in long jump, and through 7.30m in shot put.
