Camp Director Adam Heck led a group of high school and college age coaches, who split up the campers into teams. Basic skills were taught first, then kids got to try them out in a game. Guest speakers told campers about college and high school soccer after lunch, then another skill and another game. Friday were the playoffs. Campers left with a T-shirt, a soccer ball, and a week of fun.
This was the tenth year the Rec Department offered soccer camp, and it is benefiting itself with coaches who started out themselves at the camp .
Good natured fun and healthy competition continue to make the Lansing soccer camp popular for Lansing campers as well as those from other towns.
