When asked about this win, Coach Brian Vaughan stated, "The team practiced consistently over the holiday break and it showed." Assistant Coach Reed Dewey said that he thought the team swam well, especially Clement Towner and Casey Hagin. He also felt that Jake Sangren did well in his individual events, especially after swimming in both "on the heels of a relay swim." The pool record in the 100 breaststroke was set by Hans Roser in 2007 with a time of 1:01.78. Coach Dewey added that, as much as he loves Hans Roser, it was good to see Jake take down his pool record in the event. He stated, "rivaling Hans in the 100 Breaststroke is quite a feat, considering Hans is the Section IV record holder."
The team cruised to victories in other events - Clement Towner (freshman) in the 100 backstroke; Casey Hagin (sophomore) in the 200 individual medley; Ari Darlow (junior) in the 500 freestyle; Dan Ravas (junior) in both the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly. The team also had important 2nd and 3rd place finishes that contributed important points to this win. Pat Rodgers came in 2nd place in diving; the team also had solid dives from Josh Tull and Mike Coles.
