The Lansing track team had a handfull of top 6 finishes at last Friday's age group meet at Cornell's Barton Hall.

Lansing had a top performance from freshman pole vaulter Lindsay Petry who easily topped the 9th/10th grade pole vault with a new personal best and state qualifying height of 9' 6". Petry is the highest freshman girl pole vaulter that Lansing has had amongst it's many standout girl vaulters including Lindsay Pine, Kiki Gifft, and Carol Melice (former state champion who has just returned to training as the result of a broken leg/ankle).

Other top finishers included:

Girls: -Freshman Kathryn Hornibrook; 3rd in the 55m dash 7.79 -Senior Ryann Cretney; 2nd in the 1500m 5:01.85 -Freshman Lindsay Petry; 6th in the 300m 46.84

Boys: -Junior Jeff Swayze; 2nd in the shot put 44' 11" -Senior Ken Tillapaugh; 6th in the high jump 5' 4" -Senior Henry Potter; 5th in the 600m 1:30.47 -Sophomore John Cleveland; 4th in the 3200m 10:52.60

The team will compete in the last Age Group meet today at Cornell.
