ImageThe Lansing Bobcats lost a tough game last Friday night to their arch rivals the Trumansburg Blue Raiders, 20 to 14. The turning point in the game came midway through the second quarter with no score and Trumansburg facing a 4th and 10 from their 42 yard line. From punt formation the Blue Raiders mishandled the snap, but were able to pick it up, elude would be Bobcat tacklers and race 56 yards to the Bobcat two yard line where Jake Whiting was able to push the punter out of bounds.

Trumansburg scored on the next play taking a 7-0 lead. Trumansburg extended their lead with 55 seconds to go in the first half, scoring on a 15 yard pass play, but were unable to convert the conversion try. Lansing struck back quickly when Brad Bartlett took a short pass and evaded several tacklers pinballing his way 65 yards to the endzone, making the score 13-7 after the Justin Payne extra point conversion.

The third quarter was scoreless, but Trumansburg was able to extend its lead in the 4th quarter to 20-7. The Bobcats scored on a 14 yard touchdown pass from T.J. Cretney to Jon Glennon with 17 seconds left in the game, but it was too little too late.

T.J. Cretney led the Bobcats passing attack completing 14 out of 26 passes for 172 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Barlett led the receivers catching 4 passes for 84 yards. Craig Esposito had 3 catches for 41 yards on offense and added 2 interceptions from his safety position on defense. The ground attack was led by Colden Knapp who had 9 carries for 71 yards. Brandon Arcangeli and Tyler Mattoon added a quarterback sack a piece in the losing cause.

The Bobcats play the Whitney Point Eagles for homecoming at 7:00 Friday night at Sobus Field.
