ROCHESTER, NY -- Bill Austin was named Empire 8 Coach of the Year on October 28.  He led the Ithaca College women's tennis team to victory with its fifth straight conference title and fourth straight bid to the NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Championship.

Cristina Nunez was named 2009 Empire 8 Women’s Tennis Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year.  The Ithaca College player was also named to the all-conference first team in doubles, on which she will play with her sister Melissa Nunez.

This is the fifth consecutive year Austin has been named Coach of the Year.
