ImageLansing finished number one in the Girls' Swimming & Diving Class C sectionals with 385 points last Saturday.  Four Lansing swimmers will go on to the State championship meet in Webster next Friday and Saturday.  Kali Dean will compete in the 50 free, 100 free & 200 free relay events.  Courtney Pollack, Alex Conte, Ashley McDonald will also compete in the 200 free relay.

"AWESOME team work at the Class C sectional meet," says coach Diane Hicks-Hughes.  "The 200 Medley Relay missed qualifying for the state meet by .20."

That team of Kali Dean, Alex Conte, Courtney Pollack and Ashley McDonald came in second at the sectionals with a time of 2:01.40.  Lansing swimmers Kelsy Quigley and Erin Trowbridge scored in fifth and sixth place in the 200 Yard Freestyle.  In the 200 Yard IM Alex Conte scored in second place, Courtney Pollack in third, and Anna Conte in seventh.  Kali Dean was first to finish in the 50 Yard Freestyle in 24.82, shaving .87 off her preliminaries time.  Ashley McDonald scored in fifth place in the event. 

In the 1 mtr Diving event Victoria Katz scored 17 points, earning third place with 230.25.  Courtney Pollack came in fourth in the next event, finishing the 100 Yard Butterfly 1:03.12.

Kali Dean sped to another first place in the 100 Yard Freestyle, finishing in 54.87, almost three seconds faster than her preliminary time.  Ashley McDonald finished in fourth place, scoring for Lansing.

Anna Conte and Erin Trowbridge both scored for Lansing in the 500 Yard Freestyle, in fourth and fifth place.

Lansing took another first place in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with Ashley McDonald, Alex Conte, Anna Conte and Kali Dean speeding to a win in 1:44.01.  Kelsy Quigley scored in sixth place in the 100 Yard Backstroke.  Alex Conte finished second at 1:15.98 in the 100 Yard Breaststroke.  In the final event Lansing came in second when  Courtney Pollack, Kelsy Quigley, Erin Trowbridge and Anna Conte completed the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay in 3:55.13.

The final event of the season is the State Meet at Webster on November 20th & 21st.
