ImageTeams from the Ithaca, NY USBC Association Youth Bowling Program brought home one state title and a third place finish in state competition. An unprecedented 4 teams from the Ithaca Youth Bowling Program competed for 3 titles at the NYS USBC Youth Team Championships held at Strike-N-Spare Lanes in Syracuse, NY on Saturday, May 1. The teams from Ithaca represented New York State Region 3 and bowled against teams representing 9 other regions from around the State.

The Team of Aaron Stedge (651), Troy Hradisky (536), Chris Patucek (576), and Steven Angel (692) captured the “A” division state championship; winning gold medals and a team scholarship of $1,000. Stedge also received an award for the highest scratch 3-game series rolled by a “junior” division boy.

Tyler VanOstrand, Danny Brophy, Trever Rounds, and Nicco Lupo placed 6th, also in the “A” division; just 13 pins away from earning a team scholarship.

Bowling in the “Scratch” division the team of Zachery VanOstrand (651), Danny Morris (681), Kyle Ferris (603), and Tim Angel (628) picked up a 3rd place finish, bronze medals, and a team scholarship of $300.

Though missing one team member, Brandon Kamin, Joel Teitelbaum, and Chris Blaker put up competitive scores in the “B” division; with Teitelbaum’s 598 as high series for the team.
